The Agricultural Cooperative of Platanos was established in 1970 in order to assist the local farmers - members. He sets his own mill and stores in its own land. The starting unit follows the classic type of round oil clothes and twin vertical presses. Under this format works until 1987. After a full modernization it passes to the new tech-era. The whole process is being done by the use of multiple mechanical systems, such as leaf-separator, washer, crusher, centrifugal separator of the oil from the paste and twin separators.

In 2007 the Agricultural Cooperation adjusted technologically and ecologically and modernized by its own resources and by the funding development law 3522/06, by 40%. Its main purpose remains the equal and mutual assistance of its members, for economic, social and cultural development and production, through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise.
