Sometime the wild waters with the human intervention, softened, accept their incarceration in dams and temporarily subservient discipline to channel and their flow converts into kinetic energy witch offers electric power, a  charitable, useful and sustainable work.

THE IDENTITY OF THE PROJECT:

• NAME: Hydroelectric Power Station (HPS) "Tsivlos' of private law, for 50 years.
• PRODUCED POWER: 2,8 MW, with expected project 10.000.000 KWh / year.
• LEGAL FRAMEWORK: Community Enterprise of the Community of PLATANOS.
• KINETIC ENERGY SOURCE: The water of the river Krathis.
• OBJECTIVE-PURPOSE: Production of electricity.
• IMPLEMENTATION INVESTMENT: Third party financing.
• PROJECT BUDGET: 1,500,000 drachmas in 1996.
• ECONOMIC BENEFITS: The 15/100 revenue from the sold electricity to PPC, is being given to the Community of Platanos.
• SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE PROJECT: Mild form of energy. It does not cause negative effects on the environment that respects and preserves. It does not pollute the soil, water and the air. It is a remarkable, innovative and also charitable project.
• INSPIRATOR & CREATOR OF THE PROJECT: The fondly remembered Dionysios P. Chasapis (+2005).
• CURRENT STATUS: Both the "Kapodestrian" and the "Kallikrates" Law created a nebula of problems for the local communities. The Local Community of Platanos accepts strugglingly the negative consequences.
